1 bedroom apartment spacious, bright, calm

The universally popular Marais district couldn't be a more central location for visiting Paris. The third and fourth districts share between them the one-time aristocratic le Marais, home to a substantial number of palatial residences.

The Marais and rue des Lombards, where the apartment is located, is lively with charming cafes, restaurants, parks, designer shops in rue des Francs-Bourgeois and wonderful food stores all nearby. For visitors who wish to explore Paris by foot, the marvelous Marais includes the Place des Vosges, often considered as one of the prettiest squares in Paris, the Picasso Museum, the Carnavalet Museum, the Center Pompidou and of course the Louvre. After just a 5 minutes walk is the river Seine, crossing onto the "Ile de la Cite" to visit Notre-Dame and the "Ile Saint-Louis".

All major attractions in the center of Paris are within walking distance from the apartment, including the Latin Quarter, near Notre-Dame.
This charming, spacious apartment (600 square/foot) is very quiet as it's on the 5th floor and has a view onto a courtyard.

The building is equipped with a lift and all modern amenities. Brightly colored and airy, this apartment will serve as an idyllic base for 3-5 people. Ideal for a group or a family.

Please refer to apartment ID 53 if you are just a couple.

Area Description

The area of the 4e arrondissement directly north of Ile Saint Louis, was in fact a swamp until the 13th century, when it was converted to agricultural use. In the early 1600s, Henry IV built Place des Vosges, turning the area into the Paris's most fashionable residential district and attracting wealthy aristocrats, who erected luxurious but discreet hotels particuliers (private mansions). When the aristocracy moved to Versailles and Faubourg Saint Germain during the late 17th and 18th centuries, the Marais and its mansions passed into the hands of ordinary Parisians. Today, the Marais is one of the few neighborhoods of Paris that still has almost all of its pre-Revolutionary architecture. In recent years the area has become trendy and remains one of the best location to feel like a real Parisian with most of tourists attractions at walking distance : Notre-Dame Paris's cathedral, La Seine, The "Ile de la Cité", the Louvre, the Pompidou center and the bastille Opera surrounds you.
