Through your windows, you are invited to peer down onto Rambuteau/Quincampoix and Lombards streets where restaurants and bars are everywhere, with many different atmospheres.

The universally popular Marais district could hardly be a more central location for visiting Paris. The third and fourth districts share between them the one-time aristocratic le Marais, home to a substantial number of palatial residences. The Marais is the oldest historical district in Paris and it has recently become very popular. This area is alive with charming cafes, restaurants, parks, designer shops in rue des Francs-Bourgeois - (see ID 80) and wonderful food stores all nearby.

For visitors who wish to explore Paris by foot, the marvelous Marais includes the Place des Vosges, often considered as one of the prettiest squares in Paris, the Picasso Museum, the Carnavalet Museum, the Centre Pompidou and of course the Louvre. In around 5 minutes by foot one is also at the Seine river, crossing onto the "Ile de la Cite" to visit Notre-Dame and the "Ile Saint Louis". All major attractions in the center of Paris are within walking distance, including the Latin Quarter, near Notre-Dame.
